Views and opinions from talented staff and contributors.
It's an interesting month in Attitude.
Our
writers have always been at the cutting edge of what's hip and
refreshing in the industry, brilliant taps into the comics zeitgeist.
A remarkable synchronicity appears in this months columns.
Antony
Johnston gives us his thoughts on Web Comics in PANEL BEATING,
at much the same time that several pre-eminent comics industry
professionals and pundits do the same. Actually, while I was editing
his column, the Ziff-Davis magazine empire-sponsored show INTERNET
TONIGHT did a segment on what they called "Online Graphic Novels."
Regular
columnist and new EIC Andrew Wheeler's commentary about being
a comics "fan" in THE READER dovetails nicely into familiar face
Joe Szilagyi's most recent work, THE COLD WAR. Both discuss bringing
comics reading "out of the closet", so to speak.
Alasdair
Watson finishes his looks at comics and the movies in MODERN DAYS,
and the irrepressible Mal Jones hates, punks, and tunnels in RANDOM
THOUGHTS. Rounding out the list is a guest column by longtime
Usenet comics writer Christopher Bird on being a Canadian comics
reader.
PrOpinion
will return next month, but that may be the only thing that stays
the same. Changes are afoot! If you have any questions or comments
about Attitude, e-mail me at cro2@212.net.
Until then I remain,
