Waid on Spidey

While it was mostly a question and answer panel, Joe Quesada, Editor in chief of Marvel, dropped one big creative bombshell at the Mondo Marvel panel at New York Comic Con today: bestselling comic book writer and Boom! Studios editor in chief Mark Waid will be joining the "Spidey Braintrust"- the Amazing Spider-Man writing team later this year.

While he's only written the character a few times in his career, Waid's oft mentioned as a "Dream writer" for Peter Parker. Currently, Waid's writing The Brave and the Bold for DC comics and Godfather Chronicles for Boom!

Waid is the new Number Six in a five man writing team for the thrice monthly ASM, which already includes Dan Slott, Marc Guggenheim, Bob Gale, Zeb Wells, and Joe Kelly.
