PopImage Welcome to PopImage's November update! As we stroll through our second issue a few things should stand out right away. Namely, the incredible cover by the man, the myth, and the legend, Bryan Talbot with wonderful colors by our very own Christopher Butcher. This piece of work is just as striking as the colored version, and it could be yours! PopImage feels very strongly about protecting comics and their culture, so we've started a program that we hope will be a long-lasting tradition. Each month, we have a fabulous new cover illustrated by one of the industrys top talents, and well auction the original art used for that cover off at eBay. And each month we'll donate every cent that we earn from that auction to the CBLDF, the organization whose sole purpose is to protect the First Amendment rights of all comic professionals and retailers. Last months cover was illustrated by Brian Wood, the man who brought us CHANNEL ZERO, and is the guest writer of this months feature FACELIFT where he tells us what he would do differently with CZ if he only knew then what he knows now. If you want to bid on this original artwork, get in touch. Make sure you check out PopImage's news section, which updates every two to three days and has already scooped the 'big boys' on a number of occasions. And if you'd like to be a part of the news team, check out our Help Wanted page. This months issue features a few fantastic new features that you need to keep an eye out for. We start off with our new Nickel Box reviews. These are mini reviews of cool, cheap, and fun stuff that the PopStaff has found in the bargain bins. Ever wondered what a creator listens to while he creates? Ever wonder what a soundtrack to a comic would sound like? Well, this month Larry Young tells you, and as a bonus, he even tells you how you can buy your very own ASTRONAUTS IN TROUBLE: LIVE FROM THE MOON soundtrack from AiT/Planet Lar. I have mine, and let me assure you, this is a great listen. Larry has crafted a perfect soundtrack to this fun and exciting comic. Get one now, just in time for the new own ASTRONAUTS IN TROUBLE: LIVE FROM THE MOON trade paperback that I know you ordered. Are you interested in joining the PopImage staff? They just go here to our Help Wanted page. Enjoy the site, and remember to visit our new PopImage Forum at Delphi and tell us what you think. Scott Grunewald |
