Bryan Talbot is a rare talent in an industry that at the moment is reaching a creative peak and, for the last 20 years, he has been an influence on many of the industries most celebrated, including Garth Ennis, Grant Morrison and Alan Moore.

This year marks his return to the series that brought him to the worlds attention namely THE ADVENTURES OF LUTHER ARKWRIGHT. Ten years in the making, this is a book that should be mentioned in the same sentence as WATCHMEN and THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS for it is certainly WATCHMEN´s equal, and they both stand head and shoulders above THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS.

The sequel is aptly named HEART OF EMPIRE: THE LEGACY OF LUTHER ARKWRIGHT and again Bryan Talbot has shown what he is capable of. The name resonates with that of Conrad´s HEART OF DARKNESS and so does the theme. It is a tale of self-discovery, love, horror, death and ultimate salvation and for those who have read THE ADVENTURES OF LUTHER ARKWRIGHT as well as those who have not HEART OF EMPIRE will leave you breathless.
