REVIEWS
Every
issue PopImage reviews the best complete works in comics, both old
and new.
PopImage's
review ideology is different than anyone else's on the net; we only
review stories. That means mini-series, story arcs, trade paperbacks
and original graphic novels. We don't review issue 126 of Green
Lantern, because quite honestly unless you're reading Green Lantern
every month you probably don't really care. We also do review features,
like "First Impressions" where we'll review the first issue of a
new title, and let you know whether it's worth reading or not. Look
for more reviews and features in the coming weeks.

Review: BLADE OF THE IMMORTAL
Blade
of the Immortal, lest we say it again, is one of the best comics
out there that you're not reading. A gripping story of vengence
and redemption, beautifully illustrated and expertly reproduced,
it's been called one of the best manga titles on the stands today.
PopImage is proud to present in-depth reviews of the first five
volumes of Hiroaki Samura's BLADE OF THE IMMORTAL.

vengeance. These two personalities unite in Hiroaki Samura's beautifully
drawn and compelling graphic novel 'Blood Of A Thousand'." Reviewed

REVIEW: BLADE OF THE
IMMORTAL- CRY OF THE WORM - In this, the second volume,
we are drawn deeper into the world of Manji and Rin, and we don't
have very much time to marvel at it's richness and fully-realized
nature before dark forces reveal themselves. Reviewed by Brandon
Blatcher. Originally presented 10/24/00.
01/05/01:

THE IMMORTAL- DREAMSONG - The third volume of Blade of
the Immortal is where the story comes into it's own, and the perspective
shifts to the evil men Manji has chosen to slay. Reviewed by Brandon
Blatcher.

REVIEW: BLADE OF
THE IMMORTAL- ON SILENT WINGS I & II - A joint review
of the fourth and fifth volumes of Hirokai Samura's ronin epic.
Reviewer Damon Crumpler describes these two volumes as perhaps the
height of the series, a compelling mix of intense action sequences
and difficult moral conundrums. Brilliant stuff.
01/18/01:
BLADE OF THE IMMORTAL: DARK
SHADOWS - Punk,
politics, and swordplay mixed into tasty treat. DARK SHADOWS is
the sixth collection of the ongoing series that translates Hiroaki
Samura's work.
