10/10/00: WELCOME TO POPIMAGE OCTOBER - "I have been thinking about the rather... critical tone my comments have taken over the past few weeks, and I wanted to take a moment and do a little positive activism. I am going to list for you five comics that I am enjoying the hell out of, and why, and I'm going to tell you to go buy them. I have no vested interest in any of these books, I'm not angling for a job colouring any of them (though I wouldn't turn one down…), and I think that with all the bitching I do about crappy books, companies, and people, the least I can provide is an alternative..."
09/06/00: LETTER FROM THE EDITOR - "Marvel Comics isn't really where my head's at these days. This is a good move for Marvel, but it's a horrible move for Joe Quesada, and creators rights and the rest of the comic industry. I mean, I really want to believe that Joe will change things from the top down, for the better, but... really. Name one creator who's worked at Marvel who hasn't been screwed at least once in the last 10 years, from stealing their creations and leaving them destitute down to being asked to return paychecks.

10/24/00: COMMENT: OFF THE BEATEN PATH - "Comics are a living, breathing medium. They are flexible and adaptive, able to pounce on anything from the latest computer coloring techniques to whatever happens to be the current hip trend....So why do we, as an industry, continue to sit around treading water while the rest of the world races by like Olympic swimmers? What I find staggering is the fact that our industry contains and embraces some of the most intellectual, forward-thinking creators of any medium, and yet, we are continually crippled by the demands of an outdated and ultimately irrelevant history." By Gabe Chouinard.
09/06/00: UPFRONT: COLUMN- ALL OVER THE WORLD - Regular columnist JAn returns for his second month with a rather insightful look at Warren Ellis' PLANETARY, told in a fictional first person narrative. Or is it?
